As preposições em inglês são geralmente usadas antes de substantivos e pronomes. Elas não possuem exatamente regras de uso, mas são combinadas com as palavras que as antecedem. Sempre que usar “talk”, por exemplo, virá a preposição “about”, assim como “learned about”, entre outros exemplos.

Usamos “on” para dias e datas, superfície e partes do corpo.
Usamos “at” para um tempo exato e para indicar um lugar.
Usamos “in” para indicar meses, anos, séculos e longos períodos, bem como para espaços fechados/específicos.

b) Julia went to Paris in September x 2003.

Aqui as escolhas devem ser feitas pelos significados das preposições e também pelos verbos que as precedem.
